Hi, I’m Peggy

My story has been a lot like homestead life itself. A little messy, often humbling, full of learning curves and beautiful moments I never saw coming. Through every season, God’s grace has been the steady thread.

Over the years, I’ve journeyed from city life to country living, career woman to stay-at-home mom, junk food lover to label reader, and birth mom to mother.

This blog is a glimpse into my world, a place to laugh, reflect, and be encouraged.

You’ll find funny stories, real-life homestead snapshots, faith-filled musings, and grace-filled treasures to help spark your own journey.

behind the blog

I’m an introverted extrovert who appreciates clutter free rooms and decorating with rusty antiques. I actually find organizing fun, like to dig in and learn new things, don’t mind getting dirty, and love Jesus, my husband, and my kiddos.

A perfect day would include sitting in the woods with the sun on my face, listening to the whisper of the wind and breathing in the earthy smell of pine. Of course, I would also have a couple books, a snack, and my camera close by.

Over the years this blog has morphed from creative DIY expressions into sharing God’s faith-filled impressions. His vision has always proven better than anything I could imagine.

I’m so glad you’re here and pray you leave this space inspired and blessed!

something i notice:

I’m oddly particular about pens and highlighters because words matter – and how they’re written does too.

how jason and i met:

An autocross event led to racing Spec Miatas, building cars, and traveling the Midwest together.

where i feel closest to god:

Some of my best conversations happen outdoors, where the wind and quiet do most of the talking.

life on the homestead

Our days revolve around spirited kiddos, an obnoxiously loud German Shepherd, roughly thirty cattle, and a smattering of chickens and ducks. The 130-plus-year-old farmhouse adds charm, fantastic views, and a list of projects all its own.

Even with all the mess and noise, we enjoy simple routines: lots of books for reading, time outside, and just being together on the farm. Together we dream, grow, teach, and figure out which overly optimistic idea to tackle next.

You’ll find too many projects going on at once, dog hair on the floor, dirty farm and shop clothes piled up, and kids running around laughing.

I wouldn’t change it for the world!

The Name: Blooming Rock Homestead

You might be wondering, how does a rock bloom?

It sounds impossible, right? But that’s exactly what God nudged me to consider.

Our homestead journey began in 2015. I was just a mama in muck boots with a pair of heifers, toddlers, and a heart full of unknowns. What started as a practical shift to farm life soon became something deeper as God invited me to trust, grow, and walk closely with Him through seasons of both challenge and joy.

In the midst of those years, quiet morning walks became sacred space. I’d often pause on a large rock, feeling God’s presence and learning simple but profound truths.

That rock became a picture of His steady faithfulness. And the blooming? That’s the impossible made possible: hearts healed, faith deepened, and beauty grown from the unlikeliest soil.

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
